Breastfeeding Consultation

One of the most common challenges with early motherhood is establishing breastfeeding.   Breastfeeding is more than mechanics, the relationship between mother and baby is central.  Even 2nd, 3rd, or 6-time mothers, like myself, have experienced challenges with breastfeeding.

Training and Experience

I am a Breastfeeding Counsellor, with extensive training including the Douglas College Course Breastfeeding For Health Care Providers and over 20 years of hands-on experience both as a nursing-mother and as a La Leche League leader. I help mothers and babies with latch, positioning, technique, comfort and any other nursing-related challenges.  My goal is to use my expertise to help mothers to develop confidence through encouragement and practical support. 

 

I can also facilitate access to additional MSP-covered consultations if the challenges are not easily resolved.

Breastfeeding Consultation - $150 

Breastfeeding support is complimentary for birth doula or postpartum doula clients.

 

For non-doula clients, I offer a consultation package that includes: 

  • An initial visit of approximately 2 to 3 hours to observe and propose options for improving breastfeeding.

  • 2 follow-up visits of approximately 1 hour each

  • Phone and text support (all hours) between appointments

  • Informational support, including videos and articles

 

 

All appointments will happen in your home for ease, and to ensure that the solutions work in your environment.
